Information about your Parish Council
The Parish Council is responsible for various matters within its boundaries (see boundary map) and is normally the first port of call for villagers requiring advice or seeking action on village issues. The Council looks after parts of the village using help provided by a volunteer workforce (the Charney Army) and contractors who help maintain communal grassed areas. Most services, however, are provided by the District Council (e.g. street cleaning) or the County Council (e.g. highway maintenance). The Parish Council often liaises with these and other bodies with a view to ensuring that all services in its area are delivered as effectively as possible.

Meetings are normally held at 7.30 p.m. in the Village Hall on the second Wednesday of odd-numbered months.
